About Us
I founded this company because my family was overwhelmed with the laundry in our house. It was a chore that never went away. In addition to doing laundry everyday, it seemed like every couple of weeks my wife and I would make a Herculean effort to catch up and put everything away, only for it to start backing up again within days.
As the father of three young girls I was determined to find a better way. Imagine a life without laundry. I used to dream about someone coming to pickup our laundry once or twice a week and return it to us folded and ready to be put away. The idea was appealing to my wife Katie, but she said she would only do it if "her" laundry was done exactly the way she did. My sister also liked the idea but wanted the laundry done "her" special way (which of course, is different from Katie’s).
From this simple idea, My Laundry Hamper was born. Our goal is to provide an affordable, time-saving alternative to the daily grind of laundry. Our name, My Laundry Hamper, reminds all of us at this company that it is your laundry and it will be done as you specify. By creating a Laundry Profile on our website, you select the detergents, the water temperature, the drying temperatures and folding preferences (folded vs. hung). If you have any special requests just let us know and we will be happy to accommodate you.
